This is just what we need as the evenings are growing longer: an early evening film club--and, even better--it's free!
The Hampstead Film Society will be meeting on Tuesdays at Hampstead Town Hall at 7pm and its opening programme offers temptation in the form of old and newer classics from around the world.
Opening night on March 7th will feature Sean Penn's magnificent and moving Into The Wild and following weeks movies include Florian Henckel Von Donnersmarck's The Lives of Others, the incomparable Ozu masterpiece Tokyo Story, Deepa Mehta's Water and more to come.
Films will be followed by discussions, led by U3A film lecturer Wally Howard, and drinks will be served afterwards.
The society is actively seeking suggestions for future screenings and you can contact them via hfs@interchange.org.uk. More info on screenings at www.interchange.org.uk/movies.
See you there--and mine's a salty popcorn, please.
